Hi I’m Chris Walker, a Stubborn Weight and Emotional Wellness Coach for Women and the founder of Complete Health Development. I have over 18 Years of health & fitness experience, I’m a Certified FDN Practitioner (Functional Diagnostic Nutrition®) SNHS Dip.(Holistic Nutrition), Holistic Nutritionist, Nutritional Therapist, Health Coach, EFT Practitioner (Emotional Freedom Technique) and Personal Trainer. I work with women who have a hard time losing weight because they have either a hormone imbalance, digestive problems or emotional wellness issues. I’m a member of the Association For Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioners (AFDNP), International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) and Canfitpro Organization. I have made TV appearances on Rogers Daytime, Global Television and I’m a published author.
What Sets Me Apart
I believe in looking after the entire person, after all the body does work as an entire unit. Below are a few points that I would like to highlight that I believe sets me and my many coaching programs apart from all the rest. Following this I would like to briefly share my story with you as well. The reason why I do all of this in the first place!
1. Holistic Programs
My holistic coaching programs guide you through my simple process and teach you everything you need to know about creating optimal health for yourself. Each program is designed to carefully move you along to better health without being overwhelmed. I use a step-by-step system that investigates the main pillars of health, identifies healing opportunities and then teaches, coaches, and guides you through behaviors that follow our unique D.R.E.S.S. For Health Success® program, a customized approach to addressing your health problems at the root cause.
I address five key areas, or pillars of health that are crucial to achieving and maintaining optimum health. These “pillars of health” are Diet, Rest, Exercise, Stress Reduction, and Supplementation. There is no other program in existence that uses these scientifically based, holistically grounded, repeatedly proven principals in a manner that educates and empowers people to enjoy abundant health – naturally.
Last but not least I would like to point out that we don’t guess we test. I find that many individuals are using a system of trial and error and are not getting anywhere. A better approach would be to use conclusive saliva, urine, stool and blood testing to determine the root cause of your health issues. I find that many individuals today suffer from hormonal imbalances which can cause a variety of symptoms including but not limited to: hot flashes, insomnia, sleep issues, thinning hair, weight gain adrenal dysfunction, poor thyroid function and more. These subclinical issues are generally missed by your medical doctor because their test are not sensitive enough to pick them up. Therefore it makes sense to test the individual so we can get to the root of the problem and build you a better program that gets results.
2. Emotional Wellness
I work with you to bring out your best using carefully designed holistic modules that highlight your greatest potential and give you the mental toughness and courage to be who you were meant to be. Not only that, you will be able to love yourself fully and build up your self image, self worth and self esteem so you no longer feel stuck. If you often sabotage your efforts by way of quitting all the time, cheating on your diet or workouts, binge eating, emotional eating or any other non supportive behaviours contrary to your health and fitness goals. This area of emotional wellness will be of major importance to you. I often times find that clients have mental hurdles and pasts hurts dating way back that make it difficult for them to advance in a particular area. I work with you to bring awareness to these areas and once you are aware the correcting and healing processes can begin.
3. No Calorie Counting
Food is not meant to be counted it’s meant for nourishment and enjoyment. I’ll teach you how to structure your meals so you actually enjoy eating healthy. In addition, I’ll supply you with hundreds of holistic recipes that both you and your family will enjoy to make the transition to a healthy way of eating a breeze.
4. Simplifying Food
Eating food doesn’t have to be complicated or stressful. I aim to make this part of your life simple with easy to follow meal plans that will rid you of the diet confusion and have you embracing healthy eating as a lifestyle. I’m abreast of all majors diets and aspire to take the guess work out of finding which diet is right for you. The truth of the matter is, there is no one perfect diet and we do have metabolic differences which will pave the way for foods that will work best with your body and digestive system and foods that will not. In addition, I will look for any dietary stressors and food sensitivities that might be plaguing your health and often have test that I run on my clients to remove any guesswork.
5. Fun Workouts
Moving the body doesn’t have to be painful. My metabolic workouts are fun, quick, enjoyable and designed to get you in the best shape of your life. They can be done at home, the gym or on the road. Some of my holistic programs also incorporate FitRanx. FitRanX is a comprehensive and standardized ranking system used for gauging individuals’ fitness levels. Kind of like the Cross fit games! This is not a system based on how long you have been at a facility or how much your trainer thinks you have improved. This is a REAL ranking system that took years to develop and perfect.
In order for you to progress from one level to the next, you must participate in a fitness test that uses specific exercises to determine strength within the exercises’ respective muscle groups. There is also a conditioning portion required for each level’s advancement. Through scientific testing and years of development in the FitRanX system, these exercises have been proven to allow you to demonstrate personal fitness growth in each major muscle group, as well as cardiovascular conditioning.
I apply spiritual wisdom to everything I do whether it be my mostly plant centered eating philosophy or just finding ways to slow down in life so you have better relationships and more peace. I believe that we are spiritual beings having a physical experience and when we tap into our spiritual health we enter a whole new world where nothing will be impossible for us.
7. Stress Reduction
In this fast paced world we live in with deadlines, hectic schedules and family pressures, no wonder we’re so stressed. I recognize stress as a major enemy to optimal health and have built in practices to regain control. I will uncover stressors destroying your health in a few categories. Possible stressors can come from:
- Mental/Emotional – fear, guilt, excitement, worry, anxiety, grief, depression, financial, divorce, job-related, overwork, trauma and abuse, relationship stress
- Physical – fractures, muscle injuries, nerve compression, overexercise, lack of sleep, chronic illness, dieting
- Chemical/Biochemical – parasites, bacteria, fungi, viruses, pesticides, herbicides, chemicals, toxic metals, wrong foods, blood sugar problems, alcohol, tobacco residue, food additives, food allergies, drugs, structural stress, metal in teeth
- Existential Angst – lack of purpose or meaning in life, hopelessness, despair
My primary goal when working with you is to help you drastically reduce or eliminate the three things that are destroying your longevity. These three things are: toxins, nutrient deficiencies and stress. To help me identify what is most affecting you I use lab and detective work. Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® (FDN) is a type of detective work that seeks to identify the underlying causes of disease instead of treating symptoms. Using functional lab work, I identify healing opportunities and engage each client in a health building process using the potent, proven, professional protocols in our D.R.E.S.S. for Health Success program. This includes Diet, Rest, Exercise, Supplements and Stress Reduction. This natural, holistic approach yields the highest level of positive clinical outcomes. I don’t medicate, I educate!
Love and support is what I’m all about. I understand the tough times you’ve been through and how hard it can be to make these types of changes. That’s why I’m here to support you both online through our private community and offline in any way that I can. If you like to interact and connect through social media you will find our online Facebook community of great benefit to you.
10. Health Coaching
As your caring health coach I’ll walk you through each part of your journey. Due to the unique nature of each client’s underlying health issues and situations working closely with me and my team is key to getting the results you want. My approach is built on a foundation of shared commitment between client and practitioner. I will be with you each step of the way to encourage you, track your progress, focus your efforts, and empower you with the latest tools and information so you can make informed lifestyle choices and take an active role in your future health. You can rely on me to give you that extra support you need when you feel like resisting change and follow through. Accountability and consistency are important factors when making serious lifestyle changes.
Now that you know a little more of what I do, here’s why! I remember the day when it was time for me to go to work. I felt paralyzed, I couldn’t move, not literally but no part of me wanted to go. You see, I worked in a call center and I grew to despise the place over the years. Just the thought of me strapping on that head set had my stomach in knots. As the clock ticked and time progressed I found my mind coming up with excuse after excuse for me to “call in” but the truth was I didn’t want to go at all, I never ever wanted to go back. Fear gripped me at the thought! I was afraid to quit my job. I had bills and kids to support. I had responsibilities. Long story short I quit my job as a customer service representative! CSR was the title I was told. I was quite petrified because the only income I had at the time was a part time job at the Soho hotel Health Club owned by Champion Body Builder Dalton Brown. I was a front desk clerk/assistant personal trainer. My dream was to make it in the health and fitness industry.
The Birth Of My Passion
Well, allow me to back track a little so you could understand my passion. In my younger days I studied martial arts which kept me out of trouble and introduced me to fitness. I needed something to keep my mind off of my father who passed away from a stroke. Luckily I had my mom to comfort me; I was too young to completely understand the situation. Why couldn’t I have a father like all the other kids? After coming to terms with the situation of not having a father, again my life was stricken with another calamity. This time it was my mother who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and shortly after colon cancer. She kind of hid all this from me until it was so noticeable that she had to confess, besides I was beginning to ask questions when I saw that my mother’s health was failing. My mom lived a few years with these diseases but unfortunately could hold on no longer, she shared the same fate as my father. I was devastated by the loss. Why did they have to die? I was frustrated and almost ignorant to the diseases that took my parents away however this frustration and lack of ignorance fueled my studies for health and fitness. Perhaps it was my turning point.
Now back to my part time job at the Soho Hotel. This was actually my first job in the health and fitness industry which was pretty exciting, even more so because I frequently saw celebrities who passed through for a workout. I saw such music artists as Toni Braxton and Jewel but soon seeing celebrities became the norm. No big deal! Anyhow, I started out as front desk help and maintenance and then worked my way to becoming an assistant trainer. I then pursued a certification as a personal trainer and began training clients on my own. This then led to fitness consultations and assessments at the Soho Health Club but I was still struggling to make ends meet. I was always late with the rent and frequently threatened to be kicked out. Thankfully, I was offered a position as a personal trainer with one of the leading fitness franchises, Premier Fitness. I worked there for a number of years gaining valuable experience and dealing with a large clientele having a variety of problems from weight loss to scleroderma.
My First Weight Loss Success
My passion began to soar because I was an avid reader; I read anything I could get my hands on. In particular, I developed a love for weight loss and after intense study I found a weight loss solution that worked for my clients. I put this solution to the test and was thrilled when my female client lost over 30lbs. This was my first major success, a walking testimonial and people were beginning to take notice. It felt great but it wasn’t enough for me, I wanted to reach more fitness hopefuls than I did training at the gym.
Becoming An Author
I started writing articles to help reach more people and soon found that people were confused, misinformed and didn’t understand their bodies. I was thrilled when people were coming up to me and saying your articles helped me to lose weight, your articles gave me clarity. I arrived! I was the “go to guy” for health and fitness! Celebrating my small victories I still wanted to do more, trying to reach people who lived a sedentary lifestyle I started training clients in their homes. This led to the birth of my health and fitness studio. Now just when everything was going great I was evicted from my apartment, the land lord wanted nothing more to do with me. My success seemed to come too late. I was living in Toronto at the time and was visiting friends in Kitchener. So, I decided to move to Kitchener and stayed with a friend who put me up until I was back on my feet, heck I had no other place to go. I had enough of this health and fitness business, it was too hard to make a living, I thought to myself. I was fed up and was about to turn my back on the health industry when friends encouraged me to go on. Shortly after being encouraged, I received a grant to start my business the proper way and I haven’t looked back since! To date things have been great. I’ve made media appearances on Global Television, Rogers Daytime, The Record News Paper and I self published many health and fitness related articles and books. I have helped thousands of women to lose weight and get fit and I’m looking to change the lives of many more!
Fast track to the future, in order to serve others better and reach even more people. I do most of my work by way of phone, Skype and the occasional in person session as well. I needed a business model where I could reach millions of people instead of thousands. Having lost my parents to diseases and knowing what I know now, I realize how easily their deaths could have been prevented. I also realize how important nutrients are in the area of healing and health prevention.
I am now able to help clients from all over the world and love to help women with their health concerns just as much as I do weight loss. I have founded Complete Health Development where I help women get to the root cause of their health and weight issues. I’m not sure what other exciting opportunities await but I’m excited about my future and our companies potential to make a beautiful impact on the health of humanity.
